New Claiborne and Carrollton location announcement

..Robért Fresh Market has reached an agreement to open a store on the corner of Claiborne and Carrollton, one of the top areas in District A for redevelopment. Robert, the Pivach-Perino Family and Walgreens said that they would bring plans to the City Planning Commission that show similar uniform facades which reflect the historic character of New Orleans architecture for the Robert’s Fresh Market and the Walgreens though each will be stand alone buildings and the Fire Station on the back of the property will remain. The Walgreens will have a drive through pharmacy.
This is a great day for the neighborhoods in the Carrollton-Claiborne area because their leaders, including JD Demarest and Terry Walker of the Fountainbleu Neighborhood Improvement Association and Gene Fisher of Carrollton United, have worked so hard to make these businesses feel confident that they are making a good investment in our community...an excerpt from a press release by former concilman Jay Batt
