RECIPE: Bacon & Robért Romaine Salad

Bacon & Robért's Swiss Romaine Salad

Ingredients

Salad

  • 4 cups chopped Romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded Robért's Swiss cheese
  • 3/4 cup bacon bits (fry bacon until crisp and crumble)
  • 1/2 cup salted cashews

Dressing

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp dried minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Zatarain's Creole mustard
  • Dash salt

Directions

In a large bowl, combine the romaine, Swiss cheese, bacon and cashews. In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the dressing ingredients. Shake well. Pour over salad and toss to coat. Serve immediately. Makes 6 servings.
